On March 19, The Jewels Club attended an unforgettable evening at Canada House in London’s Trafalgar Square, where the Natural Diamond Council (NDC), in partnership with the High Commission of Canada and the Government of the Northwest Territories, hosted a panel titled Diamonds, A Canadian Love Story.
The event brought together voices from across the diamond industry to explore the cultural, environmental, and economic impact of Canadian diamonds. Moderated by journalist and producer Bronwyn Cosgrave, the panel featured NDC Global Ambassador Lily James, Kateri Rose Lynn of Diamonds de Canada and Councilor for the Yellowknives Dene First Nation, Paul Gruner, CEO of Tłı̨chǫ Investment Corporation, and Jody Wainwright, Director at Boodles.
The discussion highlighted Canada’s rapid ascent as a global diamond leader, emphasizing its commitment to ethical mining practices and community engagement. Panelists shared personal stories and insights into how the diamond industry has fostered economic growth and cultural preservation in the Northwest Territories.
Guests also explored an exhibition showcasing Canadian craftsmanship, featuring collections from Dries Criel, Almod Diamonds, Boodles, Lands Collection by Diamonds de Canada, Gemporia, and loose stones from Misfit Diamonds, HRA Group, and Diacore. The displays underscored the artistry and traceability inherent in Canadian diamonds.
The evening concluded with reflections on the profound connection between natural diamonds, the land, and its people, leaving attendees with a deeper appreciation for the stories these gems carry.
