Founder of The Jewels Club, Andrew creates platforms that connect the world of jewellery through community, content and access.
With roots in fine jewellery’s elite workshops and a bold creative streak, Darren Sherwood blends old-school craftsmanship with digital design at Mr Sherwood and Sherwood Jewellery.
You’ll find Darren Sherwood in Purley, just south of London – but his journey spans decades, techniques, and some of the most prestigious names in jewellery. A former diamond mounter in Mayfair’s top workshops, Darren now runs two distinct but connected worlds: Mr Sherwood (his design studio and digital innovation space) and Sherwood Jewellery (a family-run jeweller with a West End approach and local warmth).

Darren’s foundations are pure goldsmithing – honed during years working on high-value pieces for Cartier, Graff, Boodles, Mikimoto and Fabergé. These early years weren’t just about executing technical perfection; they were about understanding how jewellery makes people feel, and how detail transforms a design.
That precision and emotional understanding still runs through everything he creates today – whether it’s a Gage-style ring made entirely by hand, or a hyper-real digital sculpture built in ZBrush.

What sets Darren apart is his duality: he’s as comfortable with a scorched workbench as he is in a digital sculpting programme. His work isn’t defined by style, but by his ability to turn ideas – however ambitious – into beautifully wearable jewellery.
From diamond-set cuffs and anatomical earrings to Fabergé-style surprises hidden in lockets, Darren moves between scale, form and medium with ease.

In 2020, Darren and his wife Nurain opened Sherwood Jewellery as a modern, approachable jeweller that retains the care, precision and creativity of a bespoke house. She manages the studio’s operations and photographs the pieces; their children pop in to visit; and together, they’ve created something personal and purposeful.
Their shop doesn’t just serve clients – it educates them. Whether it’s showing how stones are set, or explaining the different paths a bespoke piece can take, they invite people into the making process with openness and warmth.
Darren is a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths and the City of London, a Fellow of the Institute of Professional Goldsmiths, and contributes to boards and advisory groups across the industry. He’s an advocate for skills development and a familiar face at events like Goldsmiths’ Fair and Goldsmiths North.
He’s also a generous teacher – passing on techniques to young makers, championing digital tools, and breaking down the barriers between technology and traditional jewellery-making.
His craftsmanship – exacting, thoughtful, and never rushed
His versatility – whether hand-carving or digitally sculpting, the work is always striking
His openness – inviting clients and students into the creative process
His heart – Sherwood Jewellery is a family-run space with soul
Why he’s part of The Jewels Club story
Darren’s work represents everything we believe in: excellence without ego, creativity with depth, and a constant curiosity about where jewellery can go next. He’s not just a maker – he’s a mentor, a modern craftsman, and someone who sees jewellery as both personal and powerful.
We’re proud to have him in our community.
