“I want to bring joy to the experience, making it a better day for my clients”
Founder of The Jewels Club, Andrew creates platforms that connect the world of jewellery through community, content and access.
Noën is not a brand that has adapted to sustainability. It was built around it. Founded in Germany by Claudia and Malte Schindler, Noën has developed a model where sourcing, production and design are directly connected. Rather than treating responsibility as an added layer, it sits at the core of how the business operates.
Every piece begins with a defined origin. Materials are not anonymous, and the path from mine to finished jewellery is structured to remain visible at every stage.
That level of clarity is central to the brand’s positioning.
At the centre of Noën’s work is its use of Fairmined-certified gold and silver.
This certification ensures that materials are sourced from responsible small-scale mining organisations that meet strict standards covering environmental protection, working conditions and traceability. The result is a supply chain that can be followed, rather than assumed.
In practical terms, this means each piece carries more than material value. It carries documented origin, regulated production and a level of accountability that is still not standard across the wider jewellery industry.
Rather than shifting away from precious materials, Noën focuses on making their origins explicit.

Responsibly sourced gold at origin, reflecting Noën’s focus on traceability and controlled supply chains
Noën was founded by Claudia and Malte Schindler, who have been developing the brand together since 2006 with a clear focus on combining design with responsible sourcing.
Their approach has required moving beyond traditional industry structures. Building a supply chain based on fairly traded gold meant working directly with responsible mining sources and stepping outside conventional production models.
That process has shaped the brand’s direction. Rather than following established routes, Noën positions itself among early adopters in the jewellery industry — brands that prioritised traceability and fair sourcing before it became a wider conversation.
Since 2015, the brand has worked with certified Fairtrade gold, aligning its production with defined standards around environmental responsibility and working conditions within mining communities.
For Claudia Schindler, jewellery carries a wider role beyond design, particularly in how responsibly sourced gold can contribute to improving conditions across the supply chain.
Malte Schindler, responsible for design, brings a product-led perspective, with a focus on continuous development and refinement. The collections reflect that balance between creativity, clarity and wearability.
The name Noën itself reflects the brand’s intent — clarity, purity and simplicity — applied both to the jewellery and the way it is made.

The same level of control continues through manufacturing.
Noën produces its jewellery in its own workshop in southern Germany, maintaining oversight across the entire process. This allows the brand to ensure that the standards applied at sourcing are carried through into production and finishing.
It also removes many of the variables that come with fragmented supply chains, where materials and manufacturing are often separated across multiple locations.
Visually, the collections are deliberately restrained.
Lines are clean, forms are natural and the jewellery is designed to be worn consistently rather than reserved for occasion. Collections such as Shine and Forest reflect this approach, drawing on light, texture and organic references without excess.
This is fine jewellery built for continuity rather than statement.
The design language aligns directly with the brand’s wider philosophy — clarity, simplicity and longevity over short-term trends.

Noën’s expansion into the UK market is supported through its partnership with Deutschecraft, founded by Jan-Christian Bostelmann, whose route into the jewellery industry began in 2003 during an apprenticeship with Catherine Jones Jewellery in Cambridge.
Following his time in the UK, Jan returned to Germany, where he broadened his experience working within a book wholesale business, operating between publishers and bookstores — an environment that, like jewellery, required precision, care and attention to detail in handling valuable goods.
That combination of experience now underpins Deutschecraft, which focuses on introducing carefully selected European jewellery brands to UK retailers, alongside a specialist expertise in chains — from standard production to highly bespoke designs engineered through trusted partners.
Through this partnership, Noën enters the UK market within a distribution model that prioritises product knowledge, detail and long-term retail relationships, aligning closely with the brand’s own focus on traceability and controlled production.

Noën represents a shift that is becoming harder to ignore.
The conversation around jewellery is no longer limited to design, price or brand recognition. It is moving towards origin, process and accountability.
What makes Noën stand out is that it does not present these as features. It builds them into the foundation of the brand.
There is no separation between product and principle.
As more consumers begin to ask where materials come from and how they are handled, brands like Noën are already positioned to answer — clearly and directly.
