Crystal Haze Small Cocktail Ring
Stephen Webster didn’t just build a jewellery brand—he carved out a space in the industry where creativity could be unapologetically loud. With over 40 years in the business, Webster has remained one of British jewellery’s most distinctive voices: a master goldsmith with a rock ‘n’ roll attitude and a sustainable conscience.
From Bench to Backstage: The Rise of a Rulebreaker
Raised in Kent, Webster’s journey began at Medway College of Design, where his flair for craftsmanship first emerged. After honing his skills with Hatton Garden’s elite and doing time as a bench jeweller, he launched his own line in the late ’80s. By the time the early 2000s rolled around, his jewellery was adorning the likes of Madonna, Christina Aguilera, and Elton John — pieces that were dark, theatrical, and beautifully made.
But what really sets Webster apart is his refusal to conform. While others chased safe trends, he leaned into gothic motifs, dagger-like silhouettes, and provocative storytelling. His collections — from Crystal Haze to Murder She Wrote — don’t just sparkle; they say something.

Sustainability with Substance — and a London Heart
He’s also been ahead of the curve when it comes to sustainability. Long before it was expected, Webster was talking about responsible sourcing, artisan skills, and making jewellery that lasts. Today, his Green Team initiative—made up of staff from all areas of the business—helps keep the brand accountable and forward-thinking, from materials to packaging.
Even as his global reputation has grown, the business remains tightly rooted in London. The flagship store in Mayfair, the in-house workshops, and the small, loyal team all reflect a designer who’s never lost touch with the hands-on, gritty side of making.
He’s also mentored the next generation — supporting British craft through apprenticeships and championing new voices through industry bodies. In 2013, his contribution to the trade was recognised with an MBE for services to training and skills in the jewellery sector.

Fly By Night: Dark Wings, Bright Intentions
Stephen Webster’s Fly By Night collection channels a fantasy realm where danger and beauty collide. Inspired by the bat-moth — a mythical hybrid that symbolises transformation and freedom — the designs feature curved, thorn-tipped wings and dramatic silhouettes that are unmistakably Webster. This is jewellery made to empower. Whether worn by day or after dark, Fly By Night invites its wearer to embrace their own edge, with pieces that shimmer with confidence and strength.

Stephen Webster’s world is one of contradiction: luxury with attitude, heritage with rebellion, glamour with grit. And that’s exactly why it works.
