Launching this September, Ava & Sky brings premium waterproof jewellery to independent jewellers at a time when silver is becoming harder to deliver at accessible prices.

Hot Diamonds has built a strong reputation for understanding the independent jewellery market. Now, with the launch of Ava & Sky, the business is responding to one of the biggest commercial shifts facing the sector:  how to offer customers jewellery that feels premium, performs in everyday life and remains within reach.

Ava & Sky is Hot Diamonds’ new women’s jewellery brand, created in 316L stainless steel with PVD finishes. Designed to be waterproof, sweat resistant and hypoallergenic, the collection is positioned at the £30 to £120 price point and will launch through independent jewellers in September 2026.

The response has already been significant. Before launch, 93 independent jewellers had committed to the brand, underlining the appetite for a more elevated answer to the growing waterproof jewellery market.

A new proposition for independent jewellers

The independent jeweller has always offered something the high street and online fashion chains cannot: advice, trust, service and a considered selection of products.

Ava & Sky has been developed with that environment in mind.

There is already plenty of waterproof jewellery at the lower end of the market. It is widely available through fashion retailers, department stores and online brands. What is less common is a more premium offer, designed to sit naturally within an independent jewellery store.

The brand’s 316L stainless steel base and ReadyForLife PVD finish are intended to deliver durability alongside a polished, high-luxury look. The focus is on statement designs that feel current, wearable and easy to build into an everyday jewellery wardrobe.

For retailers, it creates an opportunity to offer customers an accessible product without moving away from the quality and presentation they expect from an independent jeweller.

Why now?

Rising silver prices have changed the accessible jewellery market.

Sterling silver remains an important material, valued for its precious-metal status, quality and heritage. But as metal prices rise, it becomes more difficult for brands and retailers to offer silver jewellery at the £30 to £120 price point many customers are comfortable spending.

At the same time, customers are looking for jewellery that works harder. They want pieces they can wear every day, on holiday, at work and through an active lifestyle. They expect comfort, durability and a finish that remains beautiful.

Ava & Sky is Hot Diamonds’ response to that shift.

It is not designed to replace silver. Hot Diamonds has confirmed that its core silver brands will remain in 925 sterling silver. Instead, Ava & Sky gives the business and its retail partners another option: a different material, a different price point and a product proposition built around modern everyday wear.

Is steel the new accessible luxury?

Ava & Sky arrives at a moment when the industry is reassessing what accessible luxury means.

For some customers, sterling silver will always matter because it is a precious metal with permanence and traditional appeal. For others, the priority is fashion, durability and a price that makes jewellery feel attainable.

That is where stainless steel is beginning to earn a more serious place in the market.

The question is not whether steel is the same as silver or gold. It is not. The question is whether it can offer customers something they genuinely value: attractive design, a reliable finish, everyday practicality and transparent pricing.

When it is presented clearly, stainless steel can be a strong choice. Customers should understand the difference between steel, PVD plated jewellery, sterling silver and solid gold, but that does not make one inherently better than another. Each has a different role, price and expectation.

The strength of Ava & Sky is that it does not attempt to blur those distinctions. Instead, it offers an elevated waterproof jewellery proposition for a customer who wants to wear their pieces without overthinking them.

Designed for the way customers live now

Jewellery is no longer reserved for special occasions.

Today’s customer wants a necklace that can be layered with other pieces, earrings that can be worn from morning to night and rings or bangles that feel as natural with activewear as they do with an evening look.

For many Gen Z and younger millennial customers, practicality is part of luxury. A piece that feels good, looks polished and suits everyday life has genuine value.

That is why the rise of waterproof jewellery matters. It reflects a change in how customers want to wear jewellery, not simply what they want to spend on it.

Ava & Sky brings that behaviour into the independent jewellery environment, where customers can access better advice, see the product in person and understand the material and finish before they buy.

A smart move for Hot Diamonds

The launch of Ava & Sky is a clear example of Hot Diamonds responding to a changing market without losing sight of its established heritage.

The business continues to support its sterling silver collections while creating a fresh offer for a new customer and a new price bracket. It gives independent jewellers another commercial tool at a time when customers are seeking value, versatility and design-led products.

With 93 independent jewellers already committed before launch, Ava & Sky appears to have identified a real gap in the market.

Accessible jewellery does not have to mean low expectation. It can still be beautifully designed, thoughtfully presented and sold with the service that makes an independent jeweller special.

Ava & Sky is designed for a generation that wants to wear jewellery everywhere, every day and on its own terms.

The Jewels Club Take

Ava & Sky shows that accessible jewellery does not have to mean low expectation. By pairing durable materials with a premium independent retail proposition, Hot Diamonds is giving jewellers a credible new way to meet changing customer habits.
