Inspired by the Grand Canyon, the meeting of sea and sky, and the movement of the kingfisher, Elyndra introduces a new jewellery story shaped by colour, freedom and self-discovery.

Nature has always provided jewellery designers with an endless source of inspiration, but few collections place a single creature so firmly at the centre of their story as Thomas Sabo’s latest launch.

Named Elyndra, the collection draws inspiration from the kingfisher, a bird admired for its precision, speed and freedom. Its vivid shades of blue and turquoise have become the defining visual language of the collection, influencing everything from colour palettes to silhouettes and gemstone choices.

Available from 2 July, Elyndra introduces a new chapter for Thomas Sabo, combining sterling silver, gold-plated finishes and colourful gemstones in a collection inspired by movement, light and the natural world.

The Kingfisher As Muse

At the heart of Elyndra is the kingfisher itself.

Known for its striking colours and remarkable agility, the bird represents focus, confidence and freedom. These characteristics appear throughout the collection, not through literal interpretations but through forms and details designed to capture the feeling of movement.

Teardrop silhouettes, flowing transitions and clean lines echo the way the kingfisher moves through air and water, creating pieces that feel fluid rather than static.

According to Thomas Sabo Creative Director Aurore Melot, the collection began with a desire to capture that unique sense of motion.

“I wanted to capture the kingfisher’s striking elegance and dynamic movement,”

“There is something both powerful and refined in the way it moves.”

Inspired By Sky, Water And Light

While the kingfisher provides the focal point, Elyndra takes inspiration from wider natural landscapes.

The collection references the vastness of the Grand Canyon alongside the meeting of sea and sky, translating those environments into jewellery through colour, texture and shape.

Blue and turquoise tones run throughout the collection, reflecting water, open skies and the distinctive plumage of the kingfisher itself.

The result is jewellery that feels connected to nature without becoming overly literal, allowing wearers to interpret the story in their own way.

Materials Designed To Bring The Story To Life

Elyndra combines several of Thomas Sabo’s signature materials and techniques.

Each piece is crafted in 925 sterling silver, with selected designs enhanced through 18-carat yellow gold plating. Coloured gemstones, zirconia and pearls add further depth and contrast throughout the collection.

The combination creates a balance between everyday wearability and visual impact, allowing statement pieces and more understated designs to sit comfortably alongside one another.

Rather than relying on a single hero piece, Elyndra is designed as a complete jewellery story, encouraging layering, personal styling and self-expression.

Beyond Trends

One of the most interesting aspects of Elyndra is its positioning.

While many collections are built around seasonal trends, Thomas Sabo presents Elyndra as something more emotional and personal.

The collection is described as being guided not by fashion movements, but by a feeling — the desire to arrive somewhere, reconnect with nature and ultimately find oneself.

That message aligns with a broader shift taking place across jewellery, where consumers increasingly seek meaning, identity and emotional connection from the pieces they choose to wear.

Why Nature Continues To Influence Jewellery

The enduring appeal of nature-inspired jewellery lies in its universality.

Whether it is the movement of water, the colours of the sky or the symbolism of a bird in flight, these are experiences and images that resonate across cultures and generations.

For designers, nature offers a language that feels timeless. For consumers, it creates a deeper connection that extends beyond aesthetics alone.

Elyndra demonstrates how those influences can be translated into contemporary jewellery while remaining relevant to modern lifestyles.

The Jewels Club Take

The strongest collections often begin with a clear idea, and Elyndra’s idea is refreshingly simple.

By using the kingfisher as its central inspiration, Thomas Sabo has created a collection that feels distinctive while remaining approachable. The combination of movement, colour and natural symbolism gives the collection a clear identity that extends beyond individual pieces.

At a time when consumers are increasingly looking for jewellery with meaning, Elyndra offers a reminder that some of the most compelling design stories can still be found in the natural world.
