For some jewellery businesses, a milestone anniversary is an opportunity to reflect on the past. For Ntinga, it has become an opportunity to look towards the future.
Marking its 20th anniversary, the coloured gemstone specialist and jewellery supplier has unveiled Horizon, a new collection inspired by the soft pastel tones found where earth meets sky. Bringing together rare pastel sapphires in shades of blue, pink, green, yellow and violet, the collection captures the essence of colour that has defined Ntinga since its inception while presenting it through a fresh and contemporary lens.
At its heart, Horizon is a collection born from gemstones themselves. The project began when founder Howard Graham discovered an exceptional parcel of pale pastel sapphires, each displaying delicate tones that immediately sparked a creative vision. Rather than allowing the stones to remain individual treasures, they became the foundation for a collection designed to celebrate two decades of sourcing some of the world’s most unusual and beautiful gemstones.
Since establishing Ntinga twenty years ago, Howard Graham has built the business around a simple principle: finding exceptional gemstones that stand apart from the ordinary.
What began as a fascination with colour, rarity and individuality has evolved into a respected business recognised throughout the jewellery industry for its distinctive gemstone collections and innovative approach to jewellery design. Over the years, coloured gemstones have remained central to that story, becoming a defining characteristic of the company and the collections it creates.
Reflecting on the anniversary collection, Graham sees Horizon as a natural continuation of that journey.
“Colour has always been at the heart of everything we do. Over the past twenty years, we have been fortunate to work with some truly exceptional gemstones. Horizon represents that journey perfectly – a celebration of colour, craftsmanship, and the relationships we’ve built along the way.”

It is a statement that feels particularly fitting for a collection created to commemorate a significant milestone. Rather than revisiting previous designs, Horizon builds upon the foundations that have shaped Ntinga from the beginning while introducing a palette that feels distinctly current.
The name Horizon carries symbolism beyond the gemstones themselves.
Often associated with possibility, optimism and new beginnings, the horizon represents a point of transition where one journey ends and another begins. For Ntinga, it provides an appropriate metaphor for a business celebrating its first twenty years while continuing to evolve.
That sense of possibility is reflected throughout the collection’s colour palette. Drawing inspiration from contemporary colour trends and the subtle shades increasingly seen across fashion and design, Horizon embraces a softer approach to colour. Pastel sapphires take centre stage, offering a refined alternative to more traditional vibrant gemstone collections.
Soft blues mirror open skies, blush pinks evoke the warmth of sunrise, while gentle greens, warm yellows and delicate violet tones create harmony across the collection. Together, they form a palette that feels uplifting, wearable and quietly distinctive.

While the sapphires inspired the original concept, the collection itself was brought to life by the next generation of the business.
Designed by Stephanie Graham, Director of Ntinga, Horizon transforms the gemstones into a series of contemporary jewellery designs that balance elegance with everyday wearability.
Featuring necklaces, rings, earrings and bracelets, the collection focuses on showcasing the natural beauty of the sapphires through clean lines and contemporary settings. Rather than overwhelming the gemstones, the designs allow colour to remain the focal point, creating jewellery that feels timeless rather than trend-driven.
The result is a collection that reflects both heritage and progression, demonstrating how a business built on sourcing exceptional gemstones continues to find new ways to present them.

For Craig Cohen, Director of Ntinga, the collection’s appeal lies in the way the gemstones interact with one another.
“For me, Horizon represents everything Ntinga stands for. The gemstones are beautiful and unusual in their own right, but it’s how they work together that makes the collection special. We wanted to create designs that celebrate colour in a refined and wearable way while still feeling distinctive and unexpected.”

That philosophy is evident throughout the collection.
Rather than relying on bold statements or dramatic contrasts, Horizon demonstrates how colour can be impactful through subtlety. The carefully curated combinations allow each gemstone to contribute to the overall story while retaining its own identity.
It is an approach that feels particularly relevant as consumers increasingly seek jewellery that combines individuality with versatility.

Anniversary collections often focus heavily on celebrating past achievements. Horizon certainly acknowledges the journey Ntinga has taken over the last two decades, but it also feels firmly rooted in the future.
The collection combines everything that has defined the business since its earliest days: exceptional gemstones, a passion for colour and a willingness to explore new creative possibilities. Yet it presents those qualities through a collection that feels modern, accessible and relevant to today’s jewellery customer.
Twenty years after its founding, Ntinga continues to demonstrate that colour remains one of jewellery’s most powerful forms of expression.

What makes Horizon particularly successful is that it avoids becoming simply an anniversary collection.
Instead, it captures the qualities that have defined Ntinga for two decades and presents them through a fresh perspective. The pastel sapphire palette gives the collection a distinctive identity, while the thoughtful use of colour reflects the expertise that has helped establish Ntinga’s reputation within the industry.
For a business built around exceptional gemstones, there could be no more fitting way to celebrate twenty years than through a collection that places colour at the centre of the story.
Created to celebrate Ntinga’s 20th anniversary, Horizon brings together rare pastel sapphires in a collection of necklaces, rings, earrings and bracelets inspired by the colours found where earth meets sky. Combining exceptional gemstones with contemporary design, the collection reflects Ntinga’s enduring passion for colour and craftsmanship. Visit their website ntinga.co.uk
